Visit one of the largest art, craft, design and music museums in all of Scandinavia.

KODE is one of the largest art, craft, design and music museums in all of Scandinavia, spread out through the city of Bergen in traditional exhibition spaces (KODE 1, 2, 3 and 4) and in the homes of three Norwegian composers.

One of the most famous historical homes taken under the wing of KODE is Troldhaugen, the late-19th century home of composer Edvard Grieg. Here visitors can tour the composer’s villa, which include Grieg’s “composer’s hut” where he worked on his music, the Troldsalen performance space and the gravesite of Edvard and his wife Nina.

Located in a more traditional exhibition space on Rasmus Meyers allé 9 is KODE 4, which includes the KunstLab Children’s Art Museum and an expansive collection of artworks spanning the 14th through 20th centuries.

In all, the KODE collections include nearly 50,000 objects ranging from paintings, sketches, sculptures, installations, videos, musical instruments, furniture and and design.
